Tonight the 1st International Copernicus Choir Competition is starting in Toruń, Poland. 16 choirs are expected to participate; they come from Europe, Mexiko and South Korea. One of them has a very special story behind:“Song for you” from South Korea is the protagonist in a new Korean TV Show. Only 100 days ago (!) the choir was founded. It consists of students at Sung-Ji High School in Seoul, who are among the 3% of worst students in the whole country. At the beginning of the show two choir teams battled for the win and “Song for you” has made it.
Now they travel to Poland to compete in the Pop category of the choir competition, accompanied by a TV crew. All choir members haven’t done chorus before and it’s their first time participating in a contest. The group’s conductor and mentor is Lee Seung-chul, the most famous singer in South Korea.
They have been through a lot together for 100 days who got hurt from schools and society. Now their biggest challenge is waiting for them in Poland.
In three episodes the Korean SBS TV station is going to broadcast the full story of these students’ miraculous challenge, starting from organizing a choir to participating in the 1st International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition 2013.
How this story ends? We will see in the coming days.
