Email verification issues
When you agree to communicate electronically with the Department, an email is sent asking you to 'Confirm your ImmiAccount email address'.
An issue has been identified with the link contained in the email. Data is missing from the link and it will not work. The following error message will display when using the link in the email. "An error has occured verifying your email address".
Please ignore this message. You do not need to verify your email address to be able to lodge an electronic application, or receive communication from the Department about an application in progress.
A fix for this issue is planned for early March 2018. You will be able to verify your email address after this time.
Attaching documents
Some clients have reported difficulty attaching documents to their online applications. If the status of your application in ImmiAccount is currently 'Submitted', wait for the status to change to ‘Received’ before attempting to attach documents.
If you are still unable to attach documents after 24 hours, please contact the Department via the ImmiAccount Technical Support Form.
Student/Partner application forms – ‘field can only contain standard English alphabetic characters’ error message is displayed
This error occurs when users copy and paste text from a Microsoft Word document into the online application form; ‘hidden’ formatting and special characters which can corrupt the application are copied into the form.
When entering information into a free text field within an online application, please either draft your answers in Notepad or type your answers directly into the free text fields within the form.
Applications issues - moving between pages
Some clients have reported an inability to click the ‘next’ button to move between the pages of their online visa and citizenship applications.
A blue arrow displays at the bottom of the screen to enable scrolling, but prevents users from clicking the ‘next’ button to progress to the next page of the application. This issue is affecting users of Google Chrome and Safari web browsers.
To resolve the issue, maximise your screen. This will move the blue arrow to a different position on the screen, and allow users to click the ‘Next’ button.
