데브그루는 델타포스보다 못하며 이젠 이런건 웃기지도 않다. 나는 이라크와 아프간에서 그 두 부대를 접했던 경험이 있다.

Delta selection is twice a year - a one month course that attracts almost 150 candidates. For every selection class maybe 4-7 get selected to attend OTC (6 months). Many DEVGRU guys attempt CAG selection and utterly FAIL because the intensive ruck marching is not something instilled in the SEAL training pipeline.

DEVGRU selection is much different. SEALs submit an application to the unit and current serving members of DEVGRU give the candidate a "yes" or "no" for entrance into the unit. If the SEAL is given enough YESes. He attends the Operator Training Course which is also treated as a selection course. 50% of the applicants make it through the entire process to transition from SEAL to DEVGRU. All in all - CAG is infinitely harder. And they are a much superior unit both in maturity, combat experience, and training. Most DEVGRU guys are MUCH younger then Delta operators.

The ideal candidate for Delta Force are veterans of the 75th Ranger Regiment. Rangers make up 70% of Delta Operators. This includes both guys who came transparently from the Rangers, and guys who came from the Rangers but spent some time in SF in between. Considering that a typical 300 man Special Forces selection class is comprised of maybe 3-4 Rangers. That is saying a lot of the men that the 75th produces.

What he says is that 70 % of Delta Force operators either A: Started off in the 75th and went to Delta, or B: Started in the 75th and then moved on to SF, and finally ended at Delta’s doorstep. This actually speaks VOLUMES of the Ranger Regiment considering there are at any given time roughly ~2200 75th Rangers opposed to the roughly 6,200 Special Forces qualified soldiers (18 series)between the Active Duty and the National Guard Groups.

All in all, DEVGRU is not better then CAG, not by a long shot. And most SEALs are very unimpressive. Most veterans who have served with NSW will tell you that. As will many SEALs who believed the hollywood SEAL hysteria.
