Bong Content. The first picture is from 2009 when I first met the amazing Bong Joon Ho in London when he was promoting ‘Mother’. We had a late meal and chatted Hammer Horror until the wee hours (though he’s always embarrassed that at one point, with serious jet lag, he nearly fell asleep in his dinner). The next set of photos is from 2017 when I went to Seoul for the first time and Director Bong hosted my Q&A and took me on a epic night out in various boozy vinyl record bars*. Frankly it’s outrageous he didn’t get an Oscar for that. Last night could not happen to a nicer guy. It also says everything about him that he shouted out to Quentin Tarantino for supporting him since his early films while accepting Best Director for himself. Beautiful moment.
